‘Tis the season to #SpendLikeItMatters, and we’re excited to share our guide to supporting Greater Seattle small businesses and the diverse people behind them this holiday season!

Our expanded 2019 Holiday Guide reflects that over the past year we have nearly doubled the number of businesses that are a part of the Intentionalist community. But before we send you to explore options to eat, drink, shop, and experience the holidays, we wanted to help you get started with some in-TEN-tional suggestions.

Clover Toys

Train sets and puppets and trucks, oh my! There is good reason why Clover Toys is Seattle’s most charming toy store. Owners Brittney Geleynse and Ashley Church’s thoughtfully curated selection brings joy to kids of all ages.

City Sweats

Without a doubt, the holidays can be a stressful time. So whether for a little self-care or as a thoughtful gift, time in one of the City Sweats infrared saunas is always time well spent. Dee Alams pioneered the infrared movement in Seattle, and in addition to private sauna cabins, City Sweats also offers organic facials and massage.

The Cura Co.

Owned by Kiko Eisner-Waters , The Cura Co. is a boutique that offers a selection of ethically sourced clothes, jewelry, accessories, and home decor. Want to give a gift that empowers and uplifts women and women makers around the world? Stop in and learn about the impact of your intentional gifting.

Eighth Generation

Founded by Louie Gong, the Eighth Generation Pike Place Market shop celebrates and supports Native artists. The blankets, jewelry, accessories, and other art showcase creations and stories from a variety of tribes and help to build business capacity among artists from Indigenous communities.

Hood Famous Cafe + Bar

Whether the moment calls for the OG ube cheesecake or a craft cocktail, Hood Famous Cafe + Bar is your International District community coffeeshop, lunch spot, and all around hangout. Owners Chera Amlag and her husband Geo Quibuyen have made this a culinary destination. A bit farther north? Pop in to the bakeshop to grab cookies and cheesecake.

Marjorie

The event space at Marjorie is one of the best kept secrets on Capitol Hill and perfect for receptions or private dinner gatherings. And if holiday plans don’t call for private dining, treat your family or friends to a delicious meal at the restaurant. Either way, you will experience and appreciate Donna Moodie’s warm hospitality.

Momo

Whether your intentional gifting needs call for jewelry, couture, or home decor, Momo is the delightful one stop shop you seek. Looking for the perfect omiyage (gift) for the host of a holiday event? We fell in love with the special Momo-LULUMIÈRE candle collaboration that we highlighted on New Day NW.

Retail Therapy

The vibe at Wazhma Samizay’s sixteen year old Capitol Hill boutique is playfully irreverent and evident in the delightfully provocative curation of cards and gifts. Retail Therapy also sells their own Bobojan clothing line, a selection of ethically-sourced dresses, underwear, and other apparel made in Seattle.

Sip and Ship

So many packages to ship, so little time! We’re extra thankful this time of year for our friends at Sip and Ship, a critical partner when it comes to the gifts we send to loved ones near and far. In addition, owner Diana Naramore offers a selection of thoughtful gifts and cards to ensure that you don’t arrive at your holiday party empty handed.

Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry

Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry is the answer to the perfect selection of jewelry for ethically made and sustainably sourced necklaces, rings, and earrings. Choose from a variety of timelessly elegant designs and know that the piece you select is handmade with recycled metals in Valerie’s Seattle studio.
