When Lex Petras and Meg Coombes opened Altstadt, they wanted it to be the kind of restaurant they’d want to hang out at. Together, they put a Northwest twist on a classic German beerhall and brathaus. Chef Coombes lived in Germany and has worked for a number of Michelin-starred German restaurants that inspired the menu at Altstadt. Her elevated German fare showcases ingredients sourced from local farmers, fisherman, and ranchers.

Fun fact: Coombes has also been a Guest Chef with the nonprofit organization FareStart.
