Antigua Guatemala is the Greater Seattle area’s only restaurant specializing in traditional Guatemalan cuisine. Owners Wilfredo Lopez and Yadira Reyes opened their restaurant in Kent after having a hard time finding the food they grew up eating in Guatemala. Since opening in 2019, Yadira and Wilfredo have been serving the country’s classic meals, like pepian — a Mayan recipe made with chicken smothered in a hearty, rich tomato-based sauce.

Fun fact: A percentage of every purchase at Antigua Guatemala goes toward school costs for children from low income communities in Guatemala.
