After building a dedicated following for his pop-ups which began in 2019, in 2022, chef José Garzón put down brick and mortar roots for his Latin American street food at Black Cat Bar in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Through Garzón Latinx Street Food, José wants to preserve history and honor his culture by presenting this food the same way he ate it growing up in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Place your order at the walk up window – the rotating menu covers a range of grilled and fried offerings from papas fritas, to carne guisada chifa rolls, to a special turned staple carne asada rice bowl, all of which pair well with fruity cocktails and floral wines.

Fun Fact: Before becoming a chef, Jose traveled throughout South American as the member of a band.
