The idea for a tea bar started in 2010 when now business partners and wives Amy Truong and Lani Gobaleza met during a study abroad trip to Japan. Amy had wanted to start a tea company for a while and Lani was fascinated by the drink’s storied history. In 2017, the dream came true with PARU Tea Bar. Amy is the primary tea buyer and blender, making modern tea blends based on nostalgic memories. At PARU you can find specialty loose leaf teas, matcha, and tisanes from around the world.
