Geetu Vailoor bought Union Coffee in March 2020 with the goal to make it a welcoming and accessible space for Seattle’s Central District community. The coffee shop enthusiastically supports ethically and equity-minded roasters like Mother Tongue and Olympia Coffee Roasters. Union Coffee also bakes their own croissants, cookies, and scones in-house and features goods from local, POC-owned businesses — including bagels from Westman’s Coffee and Bagels, vegan golden milk ice cream from Sweet Alchemy, and chai from Portland’s One Stripe Chai Co.
