First Movers spark movements. And then it’s up to the rest of us to follow.

2019 has been a year of firsts for Intentionalist: Our first History/Heritage Month resource (Black History Month), our first collaborations with Seattle companies and nonprofit organizations (At The Table), our first time moderating a panel at The Riveter, on a podcast, on TV. Most recently, we announced our first formal partnership with Business Impact NW, and recently issued our first Intentionalist Gift Cards.

While much of our journey to date has been about connecting individual consumers to brick and mortar small businesses in our communities and the diverse people behind them, we were approached this holiday season by Erin Osher, Managing Director of Porter Novelli Seattle. What became immediately clear is that Erin understands the underleveraged opportunity for companies like hers to do more in support of Main Street businesses, and she was excited to explore how Intentionalist could help translate her company’s intentions into impact.

The result? Porter Novelli engaged Intentionalist in co-creating the Porter Novelli Seattle 2019 Holiday Card, which features a special guide to diverse local businesses along with an Intentionalist Gift Card.

“Portner Novelli is a purpose-driven communications agency that believes there’s a business – and moral – imperative for the money we spend to support our local community,” said Erin Osher. “As Seattle changes quickly, Intentionalist is giving all of us the tools to vote with our dollars and support our neighbors. We’re so proud to partner with them and inspire our awesome clients to use their spending power for good.”

At Intentionalist, we believe that where we spend our money matters. When we #SpendLikeItMatters as individual consumers, companies, and organizations, we make important investment in a more vibrant, inclusive local economy.

Intentionalist is a community. These are our firsts – intentional acts of #SpendLikeItMatters awesome on the part of all of us who recognize and value that local businesses are so much more than the products or services that they sell.
