1. One who spends intentionally, complementing charitable giving with the purchase of goods/services from small businesses, supporting local economic empowerment and community connection.
2. A list of or resource that shares the stories of small businesses owned by women, racial/ethnic minorities, veterans, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ community, and other communities you care about.
Life is busy.
We make it easy.
Learn who is behind a business.
Feel more connected.
Support the small businesses that shape our communities.
Intentionalist is an intentional list. We went looking for a list of local businesses that included information about the people who owned them, and we weren’t satisfied with what we found. So, we created Intentionalist – part directory, part story-telling platform, part community (that’s where you come in).
Intentionalist makes it easy for you to learn about and support a diversity of local businesses. Shop like it’s #SmallBusinessSaturday every Tuesday. Support veteran-owned businesses as though every day is Veteran’s Day, and dine at woman-owned restaurants to celebrate Women’s History Month in December (pro-tip: it’s officially in March).
Whether you identify as a localist, activist, or just a good neighbor, Intentionalist helps you contribute to the businesses that keep our communities vibrant and diverse. You get the meal, drink, or service you need and support inclusive communities through the money you spend.
