In 1971, Rodrick “Rod” Dyke bought Golden Age Collectables at the age of 19. Today, he owns the business with his wife Colleen Dyke. You can meet Rod at Golden Age Collectables on Wednesdays, when he drops by to chat with customers (some of which he has known for three generations). Golden Age Collectables is any nerd, geek, or comic lover’s dream. Rod and Colleen’s store stands out in Pike Place Market, marked by the life-size cardboard pop-culture cutouts by the door.
Fun-fact: Founded in 1961, Golden Age Collectables is thought to be the oldest comic book shop in the world.
