Meet Lyz Bartolome and Jeanette Macias, owners of Seeking Kombucha in Seattle’s South Lake Union. After years of success at local farmer’s markets, in February 2021 Jeanette Macias and Lyz Bartolome opened the brick-and-mortar for their small batch kombucha business, Seeking Kombucha.

Why is it important to you and your business that people #SpendLikeItMatters?
#SpendLikeItMatter is important because by supporting local you are investing into your community. Small businesses reinvest into their community by creating more jobs, making daily needs more accessible and increasing their city’s revenue. $10 shopping with big corporations means nothing to them but spending $10 to a small business means the world.

What’s something your customers may not know about you or your business?
We occasionally have “secret” taps meaning we have secret flavors where we indulge with candy or unusual flavors.

What are some of your favorite local businesses and why?
Where do we start? We love our local businesses! Our absolute favorite place to grab a bite to eat is Fogón Cocina, every time we go it reminds us of having a home cooked meal. King Donuts also always so good and so friendly. Papa Chango – their Cafe con Miel is a must try!
