  • 🎶 Music is truly in the blood of the family behind @emmas_bbq, a Hillman-city based Southern BBQ restaurant with two additional outposts at @lumenfield

🎤 This week, we’d like to introduce you to Emma’s BBQ owner Tess Thomas and her grandaughter Miceala Thomas. Tess started her musical career after high school, and was in a band for many years, touring across the Pacific NW and in Reno, Nevada, opening shows for people like B.B. King, James Brown, and Tina Turner. She was also the first person to sing the national anthem at a Mariners game!

“Music is in our blood. I have two sons that play drums, a granddaughter that sings, another granddaughter that is more of a rapper. We just love making music together. My husband plays the guitar. Sometimes we’ll have our own private family concerts. I love music, it will always be a part of me.”

🩸Tess and Miceala know firsthand the life-saving impacts of blood donation, and are happily part of the #musicsinourblood Small Business Pass - visit the @intentionalist_ website to access the pass and be sure to visit Bloodworks NW to schedule your next blood donation today!

🍌Pro tip: Visit Emma’s Barbecue at Lumen Field, and order the banana pudding - they’ll deliver it to you with a special song! 🎶
