Solomon Dubie opened Avole on the Ave in 2024 to bring Ethiopian coffee traditions to Seattle’s University District after successfully launching the original Cafe Avole through community crowdfunding in 2016. Rooted in the rich heritage of Ethiopia—where Coffee Arabica is indigenous—Avole serves craft espresso drinks, cold brews, matcha, smoothies, and fresh juices alongside paninis, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. Avole on the Ave is a community space where coffee, culture, and connection meet, hosting student study sessions, local art walks, and live music that bring people together over high-quality drinks and authentic Ethiopian coffee experiences.
