Founded by Chanpen Lapangkura, the original Bai Tong Thai restaurant opened in 1989 near the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport and served traditional Thai recipes to cater Thai Airways crew members. Now, Bai Tong Thai has locations in Redmond, Tukwila, and Issaquah. The Redmond location is owned by Jantana Chaiseeha, Pornchai Chaiseeha, and Chanpen Lapangkura and serves traditional dishes including flavorful curries and Pad Khi Mao.
