Karen Sandoval and Cesar Martinez opened Bakescapade in 2022 to bring authentic and innovative Mexican pan dulce (sweet bread) to the Greater Seattle Area. After leaving her role as pastry chef at FlintCreek Cattle Co. in 2019, Karen started sharing her meticulous, flavorful re-creations of Mexican heritage baked goods on Instagram, first with holiday pies, then finding her groove during the pandemic with conchas in unique flavors like blueberry, ube, cookies and cream, chocolate peppermint, and rompope. Beyond signature conchas, Bakescapade offers seasonal specialties like pan de muerto in the fall, plus churros, empanadas, and other traditional Mexican pastries.

Though primarily a catering-focused business, you can find Bakescapade at pop-ups around Seattle and stocked at local coffee shops and cafes throughout the region.
