Cafe 222
Cafe 222 started out with a screenplay. Founder Terryl Gavre’s wrote it based on her first business, “The Surrogate Wife,” and sold it to Lifetime, who adapted it into a TV movie. In 1992, Terryl used the money to move to San Diego and open Cafe 222, a day-time joint serving American comfort classics.
Breakfast is the name of the game at Cafe 222. They’ve got it all: stuffed French toast, biscuits and gravy, and of course, their famous waffles, which come in both classic and inventive flavors like blueberry cornbread, strawberry “shortcake”, and pumpkin.
