Forest Ceramic Co. - Fremont
Sean Forest Roberts opened Forest Ceramic Gallery in 2015 to share his experimental approach to layered, hand-carved porcelain pottery on Orcas Island. With a background in chemistry and years of lab experience, Sean developed a distinctive marbling and carving technique using colored liquid clays to create nature-inspired patterns that replicate the randomness found in natural structures. Forest Ceramic Gallery creates one-of-a-kind functional pottery from mugs and bowls to vases and platters. Each piece is a work of art showcasing swirling layers of color, intricate hand-carved details, and organic forms. The LGBTQ-owned gallery has become renowned for its distinctive layered porcelain process and constantly evolving designs. Sean and his team also offer workshops where you will get demonstrations of their original marbling process in colored porcelain slipcasting, then given the molds and materials to make your own! No experience needed.
Forest Ceramic Gallery also has a gallery and storefront on Orcas Island in Eastsound.
