Sean Forest Roberts opened Forest Ceramic Gallery in 2015 to share his experimental approach to layered, hand-carved porcelain pottery on Orcas Island. With a background in chemistry and years of lab experience, Sean developed a distinctive marbling and carving technique using colored liquid clays to create nature-inspired patterns that replicate the randomness found in natural structures. Forest Ceramic Gallery creates one-of-a-kind functional pottery from mugs and bowls to vases and platters. Each piece is a work of art showcasing swirling layers of color, intricate hand-carved details, and organic forms. The LGBTQ-owned gallery has become renowned for its distinctive layered porcelain process and constantly evolving designs.
