Founded over 60 years ago by Johnny Mae Johnson, Jackson Soul Food first operated inside St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church as Mama’s Cafe, and today, Jackson’s continues to be a staple in Miami’s Overton neighborhood, delivering one of the best soul food experiences in Miami. Over the decades, the restaurant has served U.S. Presidents and celebrities like Nat King Cole, Trick Daddy, and Dwyane Wade.
