“Little shop. Big flavors.” This motto perfectly captures the essence of Little Food Studio, a charming grab-and-go spot nestled in the heart of D.C.’s vibrant Petworth district. Owner Chef Danielle Harris (or “Chef DMH,” as she’s known in the industry) honed her skills in one of Chicago’s busiest restaurants under the guidance of renowned Iron Chef Stephanie Izard before moving to DC and starting her private chef business.

Little Food Studio is her latest venture, open since 2021. The take-out-only cafe offers fresh pastries, Italian-inspired gourmet sandwiches, and beverages. Don’t skip their sausage roll, a traditional UK pastry consisting of pork, fennel, and sage wrapped in a flaky puff pastry blanket. 

Bonus: Chef DMH also owns District Graze, a catering company specializing in eco-friendly, affordable luxury charcuterie platters.
