Tara Almassi opened Open Form in September 2025 to create a gathering space inspired by Persian hospitality in Capitol Hill. A Bellevue native and Iranian-American creative who spent years hosting candlelit dinner parties in New York City, Tara returned to Seattle with her college roommate Marlena to build a space where everyone feels welcomed. Blending cafe, event venue, retail space, and coworking, the minimalist 2,000-square-foot loft centers around Persian tea service, a ritual commonly served during Iranian gatherings. Guests choose between rose buds, cardamom, and straight tea served with saffron rock candy, dates, and Sohan brittle, alongside specialty coffee, matcha, natural wine, craft beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Open Form hosts curated workshops, cultural events, and intimate dinners designed to feel like being welcomed into your favorite family member’s home.
