Petworth Citizen & Reading Room
Mother-son duo Molly and Paul Ruppert opened their first restaurant, Ruppert’s, together in 1993. Decades later, Paul’s success in the restaurant industry inspired a new idea: a relaxed, literary-inspired “intellectual bar” in the Petworth Neighborhood of Washington D.C. Co-owned by Julie Wineinger, the popular spot is known for its rotating cocktail menu and phenomenal pub fare. Petworth Citizen & Reading Room serves drinks named after Sherlock Holmes, Oscar Wilde, Ian Fleming, and more. The conversation at this relaxed bar is notoriously as good as the fare.
