Rose City Folk School

Leela Grace wanted to make the joy of music accessible and welcoming to all, regardless of background, “talent,” or experience. In 2018, she opened Rose City Folk School, a place for clawhammer banjo and by-ear harmony singing classes, in Portland, Oregon. 

Fun Fact: Leela has performed and taught for over 30 years, starting out as a young child in a family band. She’s earned praise for the “great depth and insight” of her original songs, which have been featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered!
