Salama Restaurant and Cafe

Salama Restaurant and Cafe has been offering a contemporary twist on authentic Somali cuisine in the heart of Tukwila since 2001. Owned by Mukhtar Shariff since 2017, Salama’s menu boasts flavorful dishes from Somalia and East Africa in generous portions and at a reasonable price. Standout plates include the tender goat meat and rice and the Suqaar, which can be prepared with either chicken or beef. Salama also offers a tasty rendition of Kati kati, which consists of grilled chicken sauteed in traditional spices, and a spicy green sauce that’s been described as “unmatched.”
