Saltstone Ceramics

Samantha Schauer, Jude Mortensen, and Liz Leong purchased Saltstone Ceramics in January 2023 to foster a community that reflects their values: Queer, BIPOC, Trans, safe, and resilient. Originally operating out of founder Sarah Steininger Leroux’s home before opening its Wallingford brick-and-mortar studio in September 2018, Saltstone offers one-day workshops and multi-week classes for both experienced potters and beginners exploring clay for the first time. The gallery showcases a rotating collection of handmade goods from local and international artists, prioritizing work by queer and BIPOC creators in the Seattle area.
