Tacoma Capoeira Center

If you’ve ever seen Capoeira, it’s immediately clear the level of awareness and discipline that mastery requires. Perhaps more important, are the tight-knit communities it fosters around the world. In an effort to preserve African-Brazilian culture and the lineage of Grand Mestre Nô’s Capoeira Angola, the Tacoma Capoeira Center brings together a diverse, supportive groups of children and adults to learn the techniques of Capoeira. The studio is owned by Syed Taqi and is sponsored by the Seattle Black Panther Party and offers classes for African descendants, POC, children, and women.
