Monique opened The Remontant in 2022 to create handcrafted, eco-conscious candles while navigating chronic illness. Named after a flower that blooms more than once in a season, the shop crafts small-batch candles with crackling FSC-certified wooden wicks, 100% soy coconut wax, and phthalate-free fragrances in complex scents like Dark Academia and Black Rose. The Remontant also hosts candle-making workshops where guests create custom candles in the cozy, plant-filled studio, and the gift shop spotlights local Pacific Northwest makers.
