Tri Organic Spa
Soon after the birth of her son Tri, Kaylie Tran began to miss the career she had built making people feel beautiful. So, she opened Tri Organic Spa, where she and her sister provide their customers with quality and affordable salon and spa services.
Story |
Kaylie Tran first got into cosmetology and hair during her junior year of high school. After getting her license in 2005, she worked for others in their salons before setting out on her own journey as a business owner. She opened her first salon in Greenwood, then sold it to open Bella in West Seattle. She ran Bella for seven years before she decided she needed a change. “I wanted to go outside of my own community and try something new,” she says. So in 2017 she opened Tri Organic Spa, named after her son Tri, which means ‘wise’ in Vietnamese. Kaylie runs Tri Organic Spa with the help of her sister and her niece, who are professional nail technicians. Together, the women offer a variety of hair, nail, facial, and waxing services. Kaylie strives to use as many organic products as possible at Tri. “I didn’t think organic was important until I had my son,” Kaylie admits. “When you become a mother your thinking totally changes, and I realized how important it was because there’s chemicals in everything.” Kaylie decided if she didn’t want to expose her son to chemicals, she didn’t want to expose her clients either. While she regrets that there are no viable organic nail options at this point, she uses organic skin and hair products. All of this success has come while also being a single mother to Tri. “I’m proud of myself for going through some hard times to get to where I am,” she says. “I’m proud that I did it, and that I am working to give my son a good life”. Kaylie has dreams of growing Tri Organic Spa in the future, and continuing to grow in her craft as a hairstylist to offer her customers the very best. |
