Mandy and Taka opened Zakka-Ya to share their Japanese and Filipinx heritages through thoughtfully curated gifts in Seattle’s historic Japantown. The creative duo behind Shishido Creative designed their Harajuku-inspired shop as a celebration of authentic culture, featuring enamel pins, stickers, stationery, and small objects that bring joy, or what the Japanese call “zakka.” Showcasing local Seattle AANHPI creators alongside artists from Japan and the Philippines, Zakka-Ya offers a welcoming flex space where visitors discover unique treasures, attend workshops, and connect with community.
