First of all. Thank you. We are only able to do what we do because of you.
Intentionalist began with a list of a few dozen small businesses, and the belief that we could close the gap between our good intentions to support local businesses and action that makes a difference. Today, we’re a movement of tens of thousands of people who prioritize connecting with and spending money in support of the brick and mortar small businesses at the heart of our communities.
It has been incredibly heartening to hear from our community about what Intentionalist has meant to you. Thank you for taking the time to let us know that what we do matters.
#BeIntentional,
Laura
“You helped me support Charlie’s Books. I wanted to go in there but I didn’t have any money, and I was able to enjoy my experience and book because of the great work you all do during Pride Month and always”

“Happy anniversary ✨ 7 years of lifting up the voices of so many beloved small businesses. There are countless local businesses I now happily support thanks to Intentionalist featuring them on your blog or on social media. Plus I’m even more of a Seattle sports fan knowing the local teams help promote great businesses in partnership with Intentionalist.”
– Brianna, an Intentional Spender
“Happy 7th anniversary!! ✨ Almost every single minority owned business that we spend our money at is thanks to the Intentionalist. I can say with 100% certainty that we would not be a thriving black-owned, women-owned, business without the help of Laura and her team.”

“I remember meeting Laura for the first time in January 2018 at a Cone & Steiner event for Rachel’s Ginger Beer. It’s amazing to reflect on what her vision was, and then watching it grow to where it is now. Love seeing the partnerships with teams and businesses around town to help support the vision and keep it alive. One of my new favorite businesses I discovered through Intentionalist is Flora and Fauna – it’s so close to work and how can you not love music and plants together. The impact of intentional spending, has allowed me to become not just a customer to some local business owners but friends.”
– Wendy, an Intentional Spender
“Thank you so much for the continued love and support you’ll keep giving small Black and Brown Queer businesses! We appreciate all the amazing connections you have brought in from all over Seattle!”
