We are excited to introduce our artist for AANHPI Heritage Month, Shayla Hufana. Shayla created the history and heritage month assets, as well as the  artwork for the upcoming AMPLIFY C-ID campaign. Below, she shares her inspiration for the imagery.

“My design for AANHPI Month is inspired by my Filipino roots and the rich traditions shared across Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander cultures. I centered the piece around three themes: nature, animals, and cultural patterns—each a symbol of connection, resilience, and pride.

The Filipino sun, drawn from the Philippine flag, anchors the design, radiating unity and strength. It’s surrounded by natural elements—blue skies, ocean waves, and flowers like Hibiscus, Lotus, and Flamingo Lily—that represent harmony, warmth, and shared beauty.

The animals included hold deep meaning:

  • The Sarimanok, a legendary bird from Filipino folklore, brings good fortune,
  • The Snake, marking 2025 as the Year of the Wood Snake, symbolizes growth and wisdom,
  • Koi fish for prosperity,
  • Butterflies for transformation and hope.

Traditional Filipino patterns—waves, triangles, and diagonal lines—tie it all together, symbolizing family, friendship, and cultural strength.

I hope this piece brings joy and pride to our communities and inspires a positive, empowering 2025 for all.”
