Hand-crafted Lebanese food is in Lydia Maasaad’s blood. For 30 years, Lydia, Moe Achour, and their family have owned Al-Amir Restaurant in Portland. But Masaad isn’t only dedicated to her restaurant customers, she’s also dedicated to feeding the broader Portland community. Every week, she prepares and delivers around 1,000 meals for hungry elementary school and foster care children. Her passion for fresh ingredients is reflected in her work with Feeding Kids in our Backyard and on the menu at Al-Amir, where you’ll find plenty of flavorful vegetarian options.
