Arepa Zone started out as a grocery delivery service providing door-to-door deliveries of Venezuelan food products around the DMV area. However, founders Gabriela Febres and Ali Arellano quickly became aware of the need for a proper Venezuelan restaurant in the area. In 2014, they launched their first food truck, serving delicious Venezuelan arepas on the streets of Washington, D.C. and Arlington.

Since then, the pair have added two new locations, a stall in D.C.’s Western Market and a brick-and-mortar restaurant on 14th Street. Their arepas come in gluten-free and vegan options and pair perfectly with a refreshing glass of their Papelón con Limón, sugarcane limeade made with fresh-squeezed juice.
