Chef An Tran named his micro bakery Ba Noi — which means to grandmother in Vietnamese — to represent how important food is in his family’s life. Originally, An aimed to serve Vietnamese dishes out of his brick and mortar at night, but COVID-19 led him to focus on baking. He serves up loafs of sourdough, a recipe he’s been perfecting for years, alongside classically delicious butter tarts and other sweet treats.

Bonus: Any orders placed online that are not picked up are donated to members of the community or local community fridges.
