Ball & Skein & More has been around for decades, but for owner Annie Groeninger, it’s a new venture she’s dreamed of for years. Annie discovered a love for knitting as a teenager and hoped to one day open a yarn shop. Instead, she wound up working in tech for over 30 years. After retiring, she seized the opportunity to take over one of the oldest locally-owned yarn shops in the country, Ball & Skein & More, which has been open since 1978. The shop offers everything you can think of and more (like their name implies), and Annie sources from other women-owned businesses as much as possible.
