Cafe Azure takes its name from a swimming pool—specifically, the swimming pool it was built on top of. The building that hosts this cozy downtown Tacoma cafe was built on top of the city’s first indoor swimming pool, Azure Pool. You may no longer be able to take a swim at Cafe Azure, but you can dive into their delicious menu, ranging from quick-service breakfast bites to heartier lunch fare.
Owner Tracy Roberts is big on shopping local: the cafe’s coffee, tea, chocolates, and pastries are all supplied by local Tacoma businesses. The food is made fresh every morning, never frozen, and plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.
