Bernie Garcia always wanted to have a restaurant in the Bellevue area, and he knew he wanted to collaborate with world-renowned architect and designer, Gulla Jonsdottir. In 2020 both wishes came true and he opened Cantina Monarca which features a modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine and an elevated tequila lounge. This is Bernie’s fifth restaurant, but the first of its concept. The menu includes something for everyone: a balance of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as gluten-free items. 

Fun Fact: The executive chef used to cook for a Michelin star restaurant in Chicago!
