Sheree Walters has been a vegan for decades and was always inspired to open a restaurant. Cue Cornbread Cafe, her dream turned true by way of a vegan comfort food restaurant with a strong emphasis on sustainability and community involvement. Located in Eugene, Oregon, Cornbread Cafe has been serving consistent, quality meals with excellent customer service since its opening in 2010.

One of the things that sets Cornbread apart is its commitment to reducing waste and its carbon footprint. They compost food scraps, use biodegradable take-out containers, utensils, and straws, and even donate their used oil for biofuel. Customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags and containers to further reduce waste.

From their chicken and waffles made with deep fried seitan to their mac uncheese, and soy buttermilk cinnamon rolls, Cornbread Cafe has a little something for your vegan comfort food cravings.  

Bonus: Furry, feathered, and scaly friends are welcome on Cornbread’s patio!
