East City Book Shop

When Laurie Gillman’s local bookshop closed, she and her community were very disappointed. Years later, after her kids had grown up, she decided she wanted to open up a bookstore of her own and serve the local community. With no indie bookstores in the entire eastern and southern part of the city, East City Book Shop has become a gathering place for many book lovers. 

Gillman believes that part of the joys of reading is learning something new which is why East City Books also offers author events, book clubs, and other community events.
