Jay Boone opened Emerald City Guitars in 1996 to provide Seattle working musicians with a real vintage shop, drawing on years touring and managing other downtown guitar stores. Today he runs it with his son Trevor, and the Pioneer Square space has grown into one of the world’s top destinations for vintage Fenders, Gibsons, Gretsches, Martins, and rare Dumble amps, with clients ranging from local players to Eric Clapton and John Mayer. They buy, sell, trade, repair, and appraise.
