Owners Lisa Cannistraci and Minnie Rivera describe Henrietta Hudson as a “queer human space built by lesbians.” The bar was literally built by lesbians with donated boom boxes, labor, and materials. The space Lisa and Minnie created has thrived since opening in 1991 as a pillar in the community, activist space, and safe haven. The interior is a cross between a living room and a petite cafe with modern color palettes and comfy chairs, while the outdoor enclave is the perfect space to enjoy a drink on a hot night.
