Johnson Candy Company is a proudly family-owned business in Tacoma, Washington. Russell Johnson started selling chocolates out of his parent’s dairy in 1925 before buying the shop with his wife, Irene, a few years later. The two continued to make and sell candy for the next 25 years before their son, Ron took over in 1963. William, Ron’s son, is now in charge of making the candy, while also helping to manage the shop in its third generation of business. Ron is still a daily shop visitor, and helps to make a few favorite treats, including delicious peanut clusters and dipped ice cream bars.

It’s a one-stop shop for a nice present! Along with their wide variety of fudge, truffles, assorted chocolates, and more, Johnson Candy Company also sells small gifts like stuffed animals and handmade keychains. Pair this with some of Johnson Candy Company’s delicious sweets and you’ve got a great gift for a loved one.

Tip: The dark chocolate orange peel is a local favorite.
