In 2022, wife-and-husband duo Yordanos Tesfamichael and Abel Woldemichael opened Kemmem, a fast-casual Ethiopian-Eritrean cafe. The pair, who also operate nearby Muzita Abyssinian Bistro, provide take-out versions of their favorite dishes prepared by head-chef Letenegus Araya, Abel’s mother.
Enjoy their spicy stews and curry dishes served with injera, a spongy, fermented flatbread. Yordanos and Abel offer a variety of vegetarian starters and entrees cooked with chickpeas and mushrooms instead of chicken and lamb.
