Kindred Stories

Reading is an act of self-care that was passed on to Terri Hamm from her mother, and she’s thankful to share the ritual with her children. She opened Kindred Stories in Houston, Texas in 2021 out of a love for reading and a passion for community. 

Kindred Stories gives kids and adults alike a space to explore the wide open world of literary content and creative works fashioned by Black and brown hands. They are a bookstore committed to amplifying Black voices and bringing diverse stories from throughout the African diaspora to their local community in Houston.
