Libélula Books and Co.

Nestled in the heart of Barrio Logan, Jesi Gutierrez and Celi Hernandez have created a space for their community to gather and share ideas at their independent bookstore, Libélula Books and Co. The couple opened their shop in June 2021 with a focus on Chicano history, transformative justice, cooking, feminism, and more. Stocked on their floor-to-ceiling shelves, you’ll find books in both English and Spanish ranging from small press houses to self-published magazines to kids’ books.

Bonus: Libélula Books has free Wi-Fi and keeps a shared laptop in the store that community members can access to write resumes, apply for jobs, and do schoolwork.
