Judi Townsend calls herself the “accidental entrepreneur.” In 2001 she found a mannequin for sale while browsing craigslist and found out the seller had been operating a mannequin rental business and had 50 mannequins to sell. Although Judi had never touched a mannequin before, never worked in retail, and hadn’t met anyone who had rented a mannequin she felt a city as creative as the Bay Area needed a place to rent a mannequin. Twenty years later, she is the largest mannequin liquidator in the U.S. Not only does Mannequin Madness offer new and used mannequins for sale, they also have a rentable photo studio.
