Mee Sum Pastry
Mee Sum Pastry is a tiny Chinese bakery with a huge Seattle following. One bite of their BBQ pork hum bow says it all! If you’re not a fan of the pork, opt for the chicken or curried beef varieties, you’ll be just as delighted. Jack and Melissa Fong own and operate the Pike Place Market stand and use a longstanding family recipe to produce the delicious pastries you can find at their shop today!
Fun fact: Mee Sum produces over 1,000 buns a day on average.

Mee Sum has always been the single best food stall in the entire Pike Place Market – which is a high mark and as someone who grew up around here – I don’t say this lightly. Their vegetable buns with the sweet and sour sauce have been a long time favorite from my vegetarian days and now that I am including meat again, their bbq pork sticks are perfect for wandering around the market.
