Build-your-own cupcakes! My Cake Theory’s owner Tiffany Lightfoot started her baking business in 2008 as a side hustle while she worked in hospitality and event management. In 2019, she made the leap to turn her dream into a full-time pursuit, and two years later, she opened her first brick-and-mortar location on Capitol Hill. The bakery has since grown into a local favorite, offering custom cakes and cupcakes for all occasions.
My Cake Theory boasts the area’s first build-your-own cupcake process, offering visitors the option to select their own flavor, filling, frosting, and frills. In addition, they offer a vast array of premade cupcakes in creative flavors like pineapple coconut, lemonade, butterfingers, and peaches and cream, a testament to Lightfoot’s design background.
