For Peaches Watson, Peaches Kitchen is a dream-come-true. When Peaches moved to D.C. from Jamaica, she found a job working as a family chef. Eventually, her cooking became popular among members of the community and the support grew so serendipitously that she opened her own catering company with her son. Then, in 2007, Peaches Kitchen was born. Today, locals rave about her moist and flavorful jerk chicken sandwich and jerk wings. But the most popular menu item? Her salmon cakes, perfectly made with a crispy breading and flaky salmon center.

Fun fact: Mayor Muriel Bowser publicly praised the famous Peaches Kitchen salmon cakes as “The best salmon cakes in Washington, D.C.”
