Pearl River Deli is a Chinatown favorite in Los Angeles. Run by Chef Johnny Lee, he’s gained the nickname “Prince of Poultry” for his prized Hainan Chicken. Johnny has made a name for himself working at other top restaurants in L.A., including Egg Slut and Side Chick, and found his niche specializing in Cantonese comfort food. What began as a pop-up in 2020 survived the pandemic and then re-located a few blocks away to a larger space at the end of 2021.
Pro tip: Order the Hainan chicken rise if it’s available. And the Macau pork-chop bun also comes highly recommended.
