Before Tom Nissley was a bookstore owner, he was an author and a Jeopardy! winner. Phinney Books is a unique shop in many ways, but one of the most significant practices at the shop is that customers can write their own “shelf talkers,” adding a sort of “community book club” element to the process of shopping. In addition to selling a wide array of books, the bookstore hosts readings, book clubs, and other events!
